1. Heating Element Replacement

The heating element should be replaced when the device has cooled down. Follow the steps below to ensure a correct and safe replacement of the heating element:

1. Cooling the device : Make sure the heating element has cooled down before proceeding with its replacement.

2. Screw fastening : Loosen the two screws securing the handle, as shown.

3. Handle disassembly : Disassemble the handle components and remove the handle cover.

4. Terminal board removal : Gently move the equipment and unscrew the three screws holding the terminal board in place.

5. Terminal board disconnection : Turn the board over and carefully disconnect the connection while taking care to note its original position.

6. Removal of the heating element : Remove the heating element and its mica paper covering the steel tube, without damaging the ground connection.

7. Installation of the new heating element : Wrap the new heating element in mica paper and carefully insert it into the steel tube, checking that it is installed correctly.

8. Reconnection : Connect the wires while respecting the original position of the connections.

9. Reinstalling the handle : Reassemble the handle once the heating element is installed.

Warning :

• Do not break the ground connection of the steel tube during replacement.

• Do not damage the desoldering equipment connections during replacement.

• When installing the handle, make sure the link assembly is properly inserted into the fixing hole of the steel tube.

2. Symbols and Error Indications

• “-“ : The temperature is below 100°C, the device is in standby mode and the handle is on its holder.

• “S-E” : Problem with the sensor, the heating element must be replaced.

• “S-A” : Memory problem, the memory module (which can retain the set temperature for 100 years) must be replaced.

• Temperature below 50°C without rise : Problem with the heating element, it must be replaced.

3. Operating Conditions

• Heat caution : The air outlet and its surroundings can be very hot. Take precautions to avoid burns.

• Heating handle : Do not place it on a workbench or anywhere other than on its holder.

• Air outlet : Make sure the air outlet is unobstructed.

• Storage after use : Place the handle back on its holder and let it cool naturally before turning off the device.

• Safety distance : Maintain a distance of at least 2 mm between the air outlet and the object being worked on.

4. Temperature Adjustment

• For a device with a luminous discharge tube : Turn the temperature switch to the desired position.

• For a device with a digital LED display : Press the button to cycle through the temperature. Turning the switch clockwise increases the temperature by 1°C at a time, and counterclockwise decreases it.

5. Use

Ideal for applications such as:

• Desoldering multiple components : SOIC, CHIP, QFP, PLCC, BGA, etc., especially for flat cables and connectors.

• Other applications : Heating, paint stripping, defrosting, preheating, rubber soldering, etc.
